Battery qustion
So a few days I noticed that my 2011 silverado was charging at 15 volts all the time wasn't moving at all so check the voltage on the battery was 12.2 after shut off I know that was low so i put in on a charger on a slow charge for about 4 hours over the next week would go up to around 15 then slowly come down to around 14.3. I now have a couple days off so I left the hood open and right after shut off was 12.4 then climbed to 12.5 then about 30 hours later was down to 12.4 Im guessing right at the line from 12.5 because a couple hours before that reading was 12.5. Not sure if I left a light on or hit the fob a few times at work which is possible but just wanted to get some thoughts the battery is about a year old. When it was at 12.2 still cranked just fine.
Ok so an update was still holding near 15 volts but then I noticed when driving during the day its around 15 volts but at night with lights on drops to around 14.3 and leave the hood open next I go to drive it is around 12.4-12.5. I have not driven it sense I put it on a battery tender after that said it was done was 13.1 volts after a few hours was down to 12.8 just checked it about 10 hours in and is 12.74 after 24 hours is 12.65 there is a 30 degree difference in temp. Not sure if I have a draw or not before would hold 12.4 for a couple days with out moving but Im thinking that its just loosing the surface charge. Just wanted to get other peoples thoughts im going to try and leave it for another day checking voltage on occasion and see what it does.
