Default DOD delete on 5.3

Howdy everyone, I'm a new user and generally don't work on Chevy's but here we are. As a Ford guy I work on Ford's and that's about it so totally new world to me unless you count all the squarebodies I've worked on. Have an 08 Silverado with a 5.3 and need to delete the dod. Truck ticks as expected and need it to last longer than the 180,000 some miles it has. Just want to know what it's going to take to delete this. Yes, I am aware of the delete kits. Any recommendations?

Thanks

I'm sure this has been posted about before. I would try the search first.
I also know you can get re-manufactured engines with AFM already removed.

Found a few threads and read them. Think it's becoming clear now. Not needing an entire new engine. One that's in it is perfectly sound and just need the DOD to be deleted so this engine makes it longer. It's not on it's way out yet but give it time and sadly I think it will which is why I'm wanting to jump on it while I can before it's too late and a complete rebuild or new engine is required.
