Default 2009 Chevy 1500 electrical issue

It has not happen since but it did not happen for the first time after driving it for a year. I have my fingers crossed, it was very dangerous driving under those conditions.

I had same problem and searched for an electrical short I found no issue so I started unplugging accessories and when I unplugged the radio everything cleared up and started working properly . So I left radio unplugged haven’t had one electrical issue since .

Default Same problem

Hello,
I have a 2011 chevy Silverado 1500 with the same issues. I will be driving down the road at the posted speed and all of a sudden, my locks go crazy, my instrument panel goes nuts and my Engie stops completely for a couple of seconds and the starts up again.

My GM dealership can't figure it out.

Tell me this isn't a manufacturing problem or a GM problem but the last time I looked it did say Chevrolet on the truck.

I would gladly jump onto a class action lawsuit against GM. They are aware of the issue and they do nothing. Hopefully no one has died because of this. I know I was almost in a head on collision the first time it happened to me.

You have a 13 year old truck. It could be a lot of things.

Default 2025 Same Issue

2025 still here having the same problem with my 2014 Suburban. The only issue is that mine is progressively getting worse. It’s actually shut off while driving on the highway (Dangerous) and while at an intersection.

This is my family car and main driver with our children. Like most of you the issue was undetectable by GM!!! Until it happened to the service advisor at the dealership. I pulled in and gave the keys. The SA tried to start it and it was completely dead. He popped the hood wiggled the cables and it regained power and started up.

After that incident at the dealership I was told there was an issue (go figure) and the issue was the negative ground cable. We are thinking about having them do this job but if it’s not the issue it will truly be upsetting. This is a problem for many people it’s interesting that no recalls have been in place. This may be my last GM vehicle. Safety for my family comes first and clearly that’s not a value for them.

The speedomoter and tech were bouncing up and down also. As I pulled over, I noticed the clicking sounds from the turn signals were also not working. I shut it off for a couple mins and then started it back up. The radio did not seem to have any sound, CD, aux, etc. The AC/Heat had was not working. None of the buttons. I drove it to a gas station and popped the hood and made sure the battery cable was tight and checked fuses. All seemed good. After that I started it back up and everything seemed to be working fine.
One time since then, when I first started the truck, the radio and turn signals had no sound, and after shuting it off and re-starting it, it began to work properly again.
