Dual Exhaust Options/Opinions
Hi all,
I have a 2013 Silverado RCSB. I've been looking into options for dual exhaust, and the one I like the most is the Pypes SGT29V catback with dual rear exit. However, I've heard from multiple sources that dual exhaust straight out the back is a big no no due to the vacuum that is created while driving sucking the exhaust back into the cab. My truck did not come with a sliding rear window but I plan on putting one in. Is this any kind of problem for our trucks, or is it more for vehicles like station wagons and SUV's with the back glass RIGHT above the exhaust exit? Nowadays many trucks come from the factory with dual rear exit exhaust and sliding rear windows. I can't imagine they would offer this as a factory option if it weren't safe. However, I do understand how rolling with ONLY the back window open can bring air from behind the cab in, and how dirt/debris tends to gather up in the front of the truck bed while driving. But, I have no idea whether or not the exhaust gases would climb all the way up the tailgate, into the bed area, and get sucked in through the back glass.
Any advice, experiences, hints or feedback would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
