Wondered if anyone has any tips on how to see / find the vin number on the block and tranny on a 2007 silverado 1500 with the 5.3V8.
I think mine may have had the engine / transmission replaced as the odometer shows 234K miles but looking at the engine and transmission they both look kind of new and even have paper part number tags on them.. I have trouble believing those still would look so good from 2007. Vin number is said to be stamped on the engine block drivers side which is so close to the firewall I can find no way to visual it.. haven't found the one thats supposed to be stamped on the ttranny. Any tips on how to see these so I could compare to the VIN on the dash would be appreciated.
