Long time creeper, finally have a real nice Silverado and looking to make some modern improvements.
Recently purchased a 2005 Loaded LS Crew Cab. Has the E-fans, 5.3, non-z71 but PO installed the bilstiens when he replaced the shocks, overall a super clean truck, and nearly no rust at just over 117,xxx. It drives like new.
This truck was well cared for, but I'm looking for anything I should be seriously looking into doing. Belts done, new water pump, alternator and idler, fresh tune up just was completed, but other than it pulling fuel at idle ever so slightly due to what appears to be a slight vac leak from bad intake gaskets, I cant find anything else I really can find to do.
I'm also looking for discrete subwoofer ideas and tips on headunits. I'm just looking to get bluetooth in, but a nice touch screen with android auto would be nice too.
Thanks all! I can get some pics if ya want, but it's just a standard crew that's nice and clean.
trans fluid and filter, check for broken exhaust manifold bolts, suspension and steering linkage check for worn parts, lube all grease fittings in parallelogram steering linkage

Might try torquing the intake manifold bolts down to stop a vacuum leak. Might not work, but its worth a try and I doubt it would make things worse, although I can't say that for certain. At least you don't have to fight a rust issue as that can get real expensive, so there is that. And I would recommend that you also perform the tasks that Tech2 mentioned, as he is a pro.

Managed to get some time to take the badging off the tailgate and buff it, along with quickly plasti-dipping the front emblem. Also had the front windows tinted a while back, installing a remote start on it as soon as I have time.
Also was able to start a base coat of cleaner wax, likely will clay bar the whole truck and get a good sealer on it over the winter.
No update on audio stuff. Probably get into it this winter as well when I have some more vacation time to burn. Are there any specific and good how-to's on self install? I'm not totally dumb when it comes to vehicles, but the #1 thing I hate doing and dealing with the most is electronics. Will my steering wheel controls still work with an aftermarket headunit?
if you are replacing the head unit you will need a chime module to make all the warning and signal chimes. don't hardwire anything...buy the wiring harness kit. a good audio shop should have a wiring kit for the steering wheel controls.
