Mystery electrical problem
Hi everybody. Long time lurker here. Anyway to cut to the chase:
I have a 2010 Silverado LTZ with a 5.3 LC9. It seems that whenever I do ANY maintenance to it, most recently *just* changing sparkplugs, the computer freaks out and resest the TPS to idle at 3000Rpms. My code scanner's reset procedure doesnt really seen to fix it and for now the 3rd time, I have to have my mechanic tow it to his shop so his guy can come in with the laptop and fix it.
I can PROMISE you that I did not hit or knick any wires, break or dislodge anything or short out any connectors (at least in a way that would appear obvious). The Throttle body is new, and last fall, another shop had to make a repair to the throttle sensor at the gas pedal. I had nothing to do with that repair as it was done while my brother was borrowing the car several cities away.
Has any one experienced anything like this or have an idea of how to trouble shoot the problem?
**edit**: The car had been driving fine until it threw a code for misfire in cylinder no. 8. I checked the wire and plug, both looked fine, and when I buttoned it all back up, this happened. Next step is to change the coil pack, but I figured to wait until this get resolved to some degree
