Default poor fuel economy

I changed all the speed sensors in my 2012 Silverado 5.3 and my gas mileage went from 10.1 hwy to 17.0 immediately.
I don’t understand why, but I had to change them on my sons ford escape and when we did, his gas mileage jumped up. I couldn’t find much online about it. So it might be worth a try I feel like I got my truck back.
ofc I already changed every part in the air and fuel system that could remotely cause this problem.
turns out the Hail Mary worked.

could be the active fuel management... when the engine isnt using much power it resorts to less cylinders used. dysfunctional sensors could lead computers to malfunction. just an idea
