Default Rear diff question

So I was doing some looking after driving in some snow/rain and after a few seconds I noticed something that looks like it is coming from were the driveshaft meets the case. Doesn't smell hot looks like steam not sure if this is normal or I might have clogged vent tube. Nothing feels hot and a temp gun reads 72F at the hottest point. Its not a lot enough to notice but not pouring out. And then in about a four minutes period it tapers off. I have a tinny bit of gear noise when off throttle or on very lightly. The fluid level was good about 1500 miles ago don't see any leaks or signs of staining on concrete.

Ran my vent tubes up to the top of the firewall, just like I did with my AMC-Jeep CJ-5, for deep water crossings. Wish all 4x4's came like this. The axles already had them, so why not the transmission and transfer case vents?
