Need some GM help.
I have a 2012 2500hd 6.0 gas
Pulled into the pump for fuel. Started the truck put the truck into drive. Nothing shifter moved but no response. My employee crawled under the truck and found the cable to the shifter was off. The plastic clip broke.
Put it on and drove it to the Chevy dealer. They installed a new cable end of problem. Salted the next day, pulled into the salt bin to load. Went to put the truck in gear, nothing no PRND on the dash and would not shift. Employee crawled under and wiggled the shifter bracket while I moved the column shifter. Started working again. Drove it back to the dealer. They found nothing wrong and had no idea... plowed and salted for 11 hours worked fine but I never put it in park. Next day worked the truck for 4 hours. Drove to the shop put it in park. Went to drive it inside nothing no shifter. Called the dealer to tow it while it is not working. Tow driver said I need it in neutral to winch it on the truck. He said about the cable thing and crawled under the truck. Grabbed to cable and I said stand back. The shifter worked again. He towed it to the shop and they checked any codes from the transmission, nothing found. Checked the cables nothing wrong.
Any ideas, I am stumped as the dealer....
Sorry for the long post.
