Default Shudder when rolling to a stop.

I found some old traffic on this subject, but no answers as to what might be the cause of shuddering when coming to a slow stop in my ‘08 Silverado. Anyone have an answer? It feels like the tranny is having a hard time figuring out what it’s supposed to do when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd to 1st. Doesn’t seem to happen on a relatively quick stop. Any help is appreciated.

I'd run a PT code and see what's going on,

There are no codes and no check engine light. Since it only happens during a slow deceleration, I’m thinking it might have something to do with AFM and 4 cylinders. Thoughts?

Yeah, you nay be correct. AFM vehicles do all kinds of weird things.I'll stick to motors that fire every cylinder every time.

I wonder does AMF interfere with engine braking when slowing down say from 55 to 30 MPH?

It doesn’t seem to, nor does it seem to when I drop it from D to 3. I tried that to keep it in 8 cylinder mode. This is why I’m thinking it has something to do with the AFM. I’m considering buying an AFM disabled from Range Technology to test my theory.

It's the AFM I'd guess. Mine did it before I programmed it out. Cost me a little money too tracking it down. Thought it was transmission, rotors, drives haft, etc. What it was doing was right before I'd come to a complete stop it would go from v4 to v8 mode, preparing for take off next green light. Going back into 8 cylinders would rumble something awful. I just got lucky and noticed it on my dash it happening right as I saw the mode change.

Yep. I suspected that was the issue, and bought a Range Technology AFM disabler. Been running it for about a week now and haven’t felt the shutter once.
