Default What do you love most about your 07-13 truck

I thought I'd start this thread to get an idea on what people liked most about THEIR truck. Might give me and others some ideas on possible upgrades, mods, or improvements.
My truck is rather unique. It's a 2007 (new body style) and my father in law bought it brand new in 2007. Unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, he had a stroke a couple months after buying it. The stroke forced him to retire and he didn't drive the truck often. Just the basics like to the supermarket. (Although I did ensure it had an oil change and lube every year). Anyway, I inherited the truck last year when he passed away. 15 years old at the time, and only 17,000 miles.

When I brought it home to Wyoming, I did do a change on all the fluids. Oil, trans, coolant, power steering, brake fluid. I've checked all hoses. They look good. 15 years old, but almost no mileage. I did replace the 2 belts. It does have a camper shell on it and the brake light on it had a few burned out LED bulbs so I completely replaced the brake like as well as installing an inside white LED light to see inside the bed in the dark. It did have 1 bad front door speaker. (Pretty common I've heard). I replaced it with an amazon OEM speaker for $20. I did a pseudo stereo upgrade. Added a stand-a-lone Apple Play head unit. So I guess I'm glad the 07 silverado had a 3.5mm AUX input. I prefer that over bluetooth and fm transmitter for certain things.

Anyway, besides the low miles, the thing I love MOST about my 2007 is what I've learned by helping my friends over the last few year with their various 07-13 chevy's and various engines.
What I LOVE is that MINE has a 4.8L engine, which means NO AFM (Automatic Fuel Management - DOD)

So many people I know with various GM engines complain of noise, using oil, some actual damage, not as much fuel savings as the manufacturer planned, and not having full power back instantly when they needed it most.

I have no idea why Chevy put AFM in ALL of their other truck engines, but didn't on the 4.8L. I knew of the AFM issues from people I know, way before inheriting this truck, but being it was my Father in law's truck, I never thought about it. When I got it, and sat in the front seat and saw the shifter lever say PRND321 I was SO EXCITED not to see the "M". I went online to verify and sure enough, the 4,8L didn't get the AFM.

The 4.8L may lack a few things that the bigger engines have, but for me it's a travel and commuting truck. I don't really do any off road or towing. It's got great brand new all terrain tires. (Put them on about 3,000 miles (2 years) ago). For my needs it's great. After doing a lot of research, I believe the 07-13 series is one of the best year blocks of chevy trucks. I will probably have this truck until it dies. But with just shy of 20,000 miles on it, I'll probably have this truck for a long time.

Anyway, hope to hear some of the things they love most about their trucks. I'd love to get some ideas of possible mods, accessories, upgrades, etc.

Later
Mike

Nice one. I appreciate you for sharing the article, I found it useful for me. By participating in real money games online, I have made a sizable profit. I discovered the website https://casinosanalyzer.com/online-c...ndyland.casino, and with the aid of this website, I was able to locate Candyland online casinos sites through which I was able to make money and use that money to purchase it.
