15 Silverado LTZ engine temp
Does anyone else's truck's normal operating temperature at 185°? I bought this used and I think it has the towing/trailing package so I was wondering if it call for a lower temp thermostat than the normal 210°
My 2006 Silverado takes a LONG LONG time of running before it reaches a little under 210 on the dash gauge, which seems to be the thermostat temp. I see that 207 is an option on these thermostats, along with other temps. I mostly watch the gauge this time of years, as it starts below the initial "160" reading, and I don't bother turning on the blower for heat until it gets a little above that. Running the heater probably contributes to taking longer for it to creep up to the mid point as well.
Personally I would think the cooler the better, and 185 to be a good running temp if it has been in use a while.
