Default 2016 1500 Silverado HC Transmission

Hello all,

I had my truck in back in Dec of 2023. I had just over 100000 miles on it. I had a rebuilt transmission put in at a GM dealer. I brought it back in March 20th for the same problems I had before. The dealer told me they found large amounts of metal in the pan again. I only put 3000 miles on the truck since Dec. The dealer is telling me GM wants the dealer to rebuild it at there location. Problem is the dealer said the are still waiting on rings for the transmission. They also told me I can driver the truck and caused further damage it would void the GM warranty. They have no idea when the rings will come in. I have called GM customer service and opened a case. They are terrible. I have no car to drive still and the dealer will give me a car for $50.00per day. Shouldn't GM cover the loaner when you have something that has failed within 3000mile and they know they have problems with their transmission? Looking for help if anyone has been able to get GM to cover a loaner.

Thank you

They should if you ask me. Did you read the warranty fine print? Dealers a slimy bunch.

I was reading over the GM 3year 100000 mile warranty and it says nothing about a free loaner. I'm just upset they won't put another transmission in, they want to wait for parts and they have no idea when they will come in. I think 3 weeks is crazy.

transmission falls under powertrain warranty . The standard period is 5 years or 60,000 miles.

Part shortages seem to be a big problem.
