Default How to get better power and throttle response

I have a 2015 3500HD with the 6.6 Duramax. I am over 100,000 miles and have been wanting to give my truck a little puck me up. I really like the look of the 2017 Ram air hood and think I'm ready to put in a Tuner. I do use the truck for hauling and and every day driver.
So what are there thoughts on installing the newer hood? Easy swap? Actual benefit? Worth the effort?
And what is a good Tuner? I don't want to go crazy on HP, but I do need better response and all around performance.

the more you tune it the higher change of blowing head gaskets. the trans is rated for a specific torque capacity; go over it and you will shorten its life. if you are ok with that...tune it. diesel tuners can produce fantastic gains...but at a cost.

headgaskets labour time for a Duramax is 29 hours x $140 hr.

I am good with taking the risk and cost really isn't ther driving factor, quality is tho. So is there one brand that stands out as better than the rest when it comes to Tuners?
