Issue with Ignition
Hello Chevy Lovers, today I bring to you an issue that my local chevy dealer called “extremely weird and rare”.
My 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 WT 1/WT has a weird problem. I dont know what it is. Dealer was iffy with their answer, and here we are. you’re all caught up.
Issue: When i turn my key to run mode (right before start). No problem with that everything turns on and looks good. my issue begins when i turn it back to off mode.
As i turn it to the off position, my engine attempts to crank for about a second and stops itself. It does this everytime if i take it to run, than off.
Sometimes it doesn’t turn off when It’s started, and will stay on with the key in the off position. My dealer diagnosed it as an ignition switch, and they slipped me the part number and I ordered it from gmpartsdirect.com and installed it myself.
I put it in, and the problem was fixed. here we are two months later, and it’s arose again. it makes me think either:
a) the part went bad in 2 months, which is dumb.
b) it’s not switch.
If anyone here knows more than I, please please help. I am at a lose of words and am bout ready to sell the truck as is.
Thanks
