Is it possible to make the 12v cigarette lighter port on main dash to be switched vs always on?
It appears to be hot constantly

 

My 03 suburban is the same, both on all the time, and I'd like to have one switched with key on for backup camera. Yes, it is possible with rewiring the socket you want switched to a switched key on circuit. Along with that two things, either splice into the battery + with key on circuit, add fuse, or splice into a key on battery + downstream of a fused circuit. With the later, you need to be aware of the load.
