Default Transmission issue 2014 Silerado

I purchased my truck new in 2014, it is 4.3l V-6 w4WD with automatic transmission. Shortly after purchase after driving in town more I noticed slipping between shifts. I get "engine flare" on all shifts, 2-3 shift probably the worst. On regular basis I see 250-300 rpm engine flare. This has been consistent but has been somewhat random. Not the same all the time, throttle position/ engine load ? Shifts perfectly when engine is cold, but only for little bit. As soon as engine warms slightly it starts acting up. This problem is quite noticeable to the point that passengers in my truck have mentioned it. In my experience as auto mechanic, when one holding device releases and one is applied(auto trans) this must happen simultaneously if not engine is disconnected from transmission. Thus causing engine rpm to flare. I have been told my transmission is normal by two dealers, "characteristic " of this transmission. Not buying it ! Has anyone experienced this issue?

I am having the same issue with my 2015 4.3l 2wd. Its quite embarrassing at times. I have had it to the dealership and was told they could find nothing. Like yours, when its cold, there are no problems. I have noticed with mine, after driving home from work if I leave it sit for a few minutes and have to leave again, I get a large rev between first and second. I have read other post that say the transmission has to learn your driving habits. After 19k miles, Im sure that shouldn't be the case. This is my first new truck and Im not at all happy with the quality.

Raymond, additionally I had dealerships transmission mechanic drive truck with me and he said "that don't feel right", but after not being able to find problem it became "NORMAL" . Saying this issue is "Characteristic" of transmission is like saying these brakes squeal and pulsate it is Characteristic of "these brakes" !! I understand that shifts have been softened over the years, however anytime you have engine flare between shifts It Is NOT Normal. Maybe if enough people complain GM will admit there is a Problem and fix it. My history is ASE certified line mechanic for 16 years.

Question- same topic,

I recently brought 2018 Silverado High County 30k miles. and I have issue like hesitation in low gear high gears seem fine, but when I slow down at the stop lights it sems I don't need it hit the bakes it slows the truck down for me (then I brake). I don't think this is normal, I took it to the dealer and he mention that my 4x4 numb wasn't light up and wasn't in correct position, he pulled over put it in 2 wheels with the light on, it seemed like it helps but this morning I backed out of my driveway and the truck felt like it was going to take off and then it hesitated it gear, strange . also coming to stop like without hitting the break my truck slows down its very obvious and I have never felt that before in any truck

Anyone understand my confusion I used to own a 2010 Avalanche and that had a different drive feel to it, I understand I have a stronger Engine but this hesitation doesn't seem right.

Thanks
Bill

I went back to the dealer today, and there Transmission GURU says that after a long draw out bs story that my truck is acting like its suppose to.
I only have the quick bump noise at low gears, he say "the V4 to V8 is what making this noise that the computer is trying to figure out what to do" long story short.
I feel this truck is not performing correctly, I might have to go to another dealer to see if they give me the same BS..I don't have a issue after 3rd gear and up runs smooth

I feel I will never know what is really going on here, does anyone here have a 2018 Chevy Silverado that rides smooth in every gear, (must have 8 gear transmission)

Thanks
Bill
