Upgrade questions
I purchased a BTR AFM Delete kit with a stage 3 cam and it's recommended to get a 3500 stall TC. Is circle D the best option? Also do you guys recommend a high pressure oil pump? Getting longtube headers of course and already have high flow air filter, air raid tube and y pipe delete with true dual exhaust with a hp tune for engine and transmission. Shifts are so much better now. TIA
A 3500-stall TC is appropriate for a Stage 3 cam because the higher stall matches the shifted torque curve and prevents low-rpm lugging from reduced manifold vacuum. Circle D is a strong choice due to stable stator design and reliable multi-disk lockup, but the ideal converter still depends on vehicle weight, gearing, and your cam’s intake centerline. A high-pressure/volume oil pump is generally recommended with AFM delete + aggressive cam to maintain valvetrain oiling, stabilize pressure at low rpm, and support wider bearing clearances. Long-tubes will complement the cam’s overlap and improve scavenging, and the improved shifts make sense with HP-tuned pressure and torque-management tables. Overall, your planned combo is mechanically sound just confirm stall speed with the cam card and match oil pump flow to your bearing clearances.
