Default Upgrades for EcoTech

Im thinking of upgrading the 2.2L with some under $500 mods. I want more power and acceleration but dont want to sacrifice fuel economy. What are some upgrades besides cold air intake that i should consider? ive looked at mild cams, headers, high flow cats.. id rather not go to a turbocharger but if its fairly cheap i might consider. My point is to increase mileage and power. im new to four cylinders, ima v8 gas junkie myself. please, insight needed.

Default for under 500

Honestly there is alot you can do for under five.
Cams, exhaust, cold air intake, underdrive pulley,

My opinion would be work on the breathing of the motors. get a good intake. then exhaust.
If you have enough after that look at getting some cams.

Hi Kenn and ekwbtx66,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

I don't disagree, but I personally would have shopped for the pulley kit, first.

Have you tried ecomodder.com ?
