2019 Silverado, LT Z71
A year ago I purchase a 2019 Silverado LT, Z71, 4 door (crew? or double? cab… not sure which mine is called) with the middle sized bed (6.?”). It came with the 20” rims. I recently sold my 2005 Avalanche Z71. I kept the stock 17” wheels because I have fairly new dedicated snow tires on them. I figured since the 2019 Silverado could be purchased with 17” rims, they would fit. NOPE! The 17” Avalanche rims will not fit over the Silverado’s front brake calipers. (I didn’t bother trying the rear.)
My question is, does GM put larger calipers on the trucks ordered with 20” wheels or are the 2019 Silverado 17” rims different somehow that allows them to fit over the large calipers? Will any spacers allow my Avalanche wheels to work on the Silverado?
If I can’t use the Avalanche rims, I would consider remounting the tires onto other 17” rims if I’m certain they will work.
Does anyone have any insight regarding my issue?
Thank you in advance for you time, attention and helpful response.
