Every time I hop out to open the gate and leave the truck running it honks 3quick times when I get in front of it. Makes me jump every time. Why does it do this?

 

its a warning that occurs when the door opens with the engine running. contact the dealer to see if they can turn the warning off.

or go into the driver information center or DIC and see if its a driver configurable setting

 

I’ll see if the service dept. can override it when I get my next oil change. Thanks for the reply.

 

Actually it is complaining you left the keys in the truck when you got out. You can disable that through the config system. That is what I did on my truck.
