Default Buying RST decision help

Hello everyone! After looking/researching/test driving few brands of full size trucks, i have made a decision to go with the 2021 silverado rst. I was going to wait till spring to buy but with the current GM employee discounts/rebates/incentives going on now, i am actually thinking of pulling the trigger sooner. Which is approx $10k off msrp. The Rst i looked at had an msrp of $53xxx and dealer gave me a price of $43xxx.

my question is, is the employee discount really that good of a deal or just a gimmick? In other words, would its still be possible to get that much off the msrp with these trucks even when the “employee discount” is not going on?

I am coming from and have been used to japanese/german auto market where they almost offer no big incentives. Not too familiar with american and specially the truck market.

Thanks for the input!
