Default Quick Note

There has been a difference in pressure since the first oil change i did when the problem came up.

On my first oil change, when i merged onto the road and got on the gas the trucks pressure gauge wouldn’t go abobe 50ish. It would dead stop at 50 or so and just go down from there as i let go of the gas pedal. Now, after my 3rd oil change I noticed that it actually got above 62ish when i got on the gas. Does that mean i am actually getting somewhere just by cycling the engine with oil? Maybe.. I still get some stop leak on it but today i will be using engine flush and draining the oil again. I think i am getting pressure back. I think 2 more oil changes should do. Well i hope because i havent wasted this much oil in my life. Starting to feel bad about it haha

Replacing a head gasket is not a super expensive job on a truck with easy access to the heads. The tricky part is finding a mechanic able to do the necessary diagnostics as this is not something that shows up on a scope.

I have put the stop leak powder directly inside the top of the radiator having taken off the cap. I can see no reason to put it in the overflow tank.
