Rear trailer guidelines with a 5th wheel when backing up
The Chevrolet Trailering Guide
https://www.chevrolet.com/content/da...uide-three.pdf
show in page 19 a very nice feature:
"Rear Trailer View Uses an available accessory camera to show objects behind a compatible trailer. Trailer Angle Indicator with Trailer Guidelines¹ shows your current path. A second set of guidelines shows where the trailer will go based on steering inputs."
Unfortunately, it looks like this works only with a travel trailer, and not with a bed mount hitch, saying this (obscure) document from GM:
https://www.chevrolet.com/support/ve...%20View%20icon.
In this document, it says "Rear trailer guidelines and the Trailer Angle Indicator are not available on bed hitch trailers.".
So I am thinking to create a secondary trailer profile, set as conventional, to use only when backing up.
I have no idea how accurate it will be, and it might some time to play with various dimensions to assess it, but before I spend some time on it, I was wondering if anybody has already tried that...
I forgot to mention I have the wired trailer camera (from GM) setup on the rear of the 5th wheel (it is a 30' 5th wheel), and things like transparent trailer are working fine.
