Silverado Center Stack Switches
Hi all,
I am trying to get my 2020 Silverado Double Cab LT Z71 setup to be flat towed behind my motor home.
Since the owner's manual states that the battery needs to be disconnected when flat towing, it is being recommended to install a battery disconnect, instead of having to remove the negative battery cable every time the vehicle is being flat towed. One of the most popular disconnects being recommended is the Roadmaster 766, which installs a solenoid in the line for the positive cable, instead of the negative (which appears a viable option). Additionally, there is an activate/deactivate button that gets run inside the truck...and their installation videos show having to drill a hole into the dash to install/secure the button. (something I really don't want to do to a nice truck dash).
While I know that I can just put the button somewhere in the engine bay, the button is there for the convenience of not having to open the hood when disconnecting the battery....
My question is, can one of the blanks in the center stack set of buttons be used to accomplish what I need? I know I have a blank where the lane alarm button would go, but I don't have that feature. I know I can buy a replacement 3-button set for that section, which would have the hill descent and auto stop/start , plus add the button for the lane alarm... but does that button have terminals on the back to connect to, or all of those 3-button switch set plug modules that go into a circuit board?
Thanks, in advance, for any useable input....
Larry
