Why does my 2019 Chevy Silverado v6 sound like this
I’m wondering why my truck sounds like this at idle. It makes a whining noise almost sounding like a bad idler pulley. It’s still under warranty so I’m i’m battling with the dealership to try to get this fixed. I suggested they changed the idler pulley, but they insisted it was the belt. The dealership has changed the serpentine belt and the water pump belt, but the sound is still there. Any info would be appreciated.

I’ve brought the truck into the dealership three times. First time was to change the serpentine belt second time they change the belt again because they said it was bad and then the third time they changed the water pump belt. Just feels like they don’t want to look into the issue and just change the stuff that’s easy
I have taken, a length of PVC pipe, put one end to my ear, and sweep the other end over the engine, till I could pin point, a sound I was looking for. Just don't let the PVC pipe touch any moving parts. I usually use a 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch pipe.

OP doesn't know what cause of the problem is yet. If it ends up falling under the terms of the warranty , then yes it's covered. You have to read the fine print in your contract. They spell it out quite clearly for you.
Is this vehicle equipped with a 10 speed trans? If so, did this noise just start recently? If so, see if it is coming from the front of the trans area. The trans oil pump is gear driven and the gears will fail and cause a growl noise. hope you find this helpful.
