Default 2004 Astro Speed Shift Lever doesn't move

Hi guys, please, help us. we have Astro 2004 and its Speed Shift Lever doesn't move. It stays on Drive - but was on Parking before. Think, someone tried to do something with the car when we were out. Everything was fine while was standing, then we were moving and then found it out. Can't move it in any way to start the van at all. Please, help us - what it could be? Thanks!

Have you pushed the brake pedal down whilst trying to shift it?

Hello, you say the indicator stays in D? won't move from there? Does the shift selector lever move?
That could be some mechanical detent in the shifter assembly that has STB ("messed up") The Bed.
There is a shift-lock solenoid and yes you must push the brake to get it out of Park.

There could be something caught there on the side of the tranny, in or around the control switches. These provide electrical logic and interlocks for the whole shifting process. Report to the system what state the tranny is in, and which ones are available (or not) from that state. It also updates the PRND321 indicator in the gauge cluster.

Have a good look for something like that is my suggestion.
