Default astro 97 van starting problem

Hi,

About 184,000 Kms , does have a starting problem usually during day once you turn off and start within less than 2 hrs, otherwise if you let it sit for 3-4 hrs or first in morning does tak e only one click. Battery replaced, also the fuel needle is moving abruptly within last range does not stay on, And Fuel pump was changed less than 2 yrs but has hum sound ( was new aftermarket product).
Will the Timing Belt or Distributor cap/rotor be an issue at this mileage or there is a code to check about other faults that may be occuring at this time, All plugs etc were replaced about 40,000 Kms before ( 2 1/2 Yrs BacK).

thanks,

Alka

Default RE: astro 97 van starting problem

Hello,

Finally one day my van aletrantor died, what happend that low battery lLight on dashboardcame on and once turned off engine on a humid day @ airpot parking lot, could not start the truck, The battery test was run by CAA, found it Alertnator was smoked, had hasstle to get out from Parking Lot pay for lot of money @ expensive Pearson Airport Lot, The alternator has been chnaged, let us see , hopefully it is good and solve the problem, The reason I see that when insultion or Brushes on Alernator are Hot during day , it could not start even the battery was new.

a trick to learn by meself. I thought someone had already gone thru this and would give me right clue.
