Default un fuel a 2000 Astro

I have a brake line above the fuel tank and I was going to drop the tank to access it. I did this once before and it was awful.
Is there a easy way to drain the tank of about 15 gallons of gas?
The fuel pump does not continuously push fuel through the line and it is a very inefficient way to empty the tank.
Has anyone found a easy way to do this?

I syphoned an 1987 j-body tank once. Just remove the line before the fuel hits your mouth!!!

There are syponing type hand squeeze pumps available..

How did you use the fuel pump before? With the ignition key?
