Default wheel shimmy / need 2nd opinions

Allllllriiiighty then

yeah, I've pretty much abused my keyboard searching for answers, I think I have the final answer but I'd like anyone more familiar with Astros than me to double check my logic! (BTW I'm a diesel truck / equipment mechanic, but sometimes these cute little cars throw me for a loop)

(1)
Here's the situation (not from Jersey Shore):
ongoing for about 1.5 years. front wheels have wobble / shimmy at 55mph+. Problem is not consistent. Practically disappeared for 3 months at one time. Problem is absolutely most notable, and also intensified, during turning to the right (like changing lanes on the highway) and 5 times more intensified when turning to the right and applying brakes.

(2)
Things that have been done:
the obvious choice of balancing / alignment. Idler arms were worn out and replaced. Left front caliper was COMPLETELY burnt up and was replaced

(3)
My diagnosis:
After much research I have drawn the conclusion that the root of all this may very well be an aged and disintegrating front brake line, where part of the lining is peeling off and creating a "once in awhile" one-way valve resulting in only partially releasing pressure on the left front caliper. This in turn probably is the reason the caliper fried, and also probably warped the rotor. The rotor being warped, in combination with the caliper not always releasing fully, is causing a slight tug at the warped spot with every revolution (hence the "wobble" feel in the steering. This is also probably what is causing the idler arms to wear out. I have ruled out the brake proportioning valve because that only splits between front and rear (as far as I know) and the right front caliper shows NO unusual wear or problems.

So what do you all think? Am I in the ballpark?
