Default Blower motor housing replacement?

Hi!

My brother in law asked if he could store his 2003 Avalanche 1500 base model on my property for a bit. I said sure, no problem. He said I could use it so he left me the keys. I decided to do some running in it. The side view mirror is busted and he used packaging tape to tape a woman's makeup mirror to it lol, every time I turn on the turn signals, the high beams come on, it has no heat and the oil pressure gauge is spiked at 100.

After seeing how cheap parts are, I ordered a new mirror, an oil pressure sender, and a turn signal multifunction switch. I diagnosed the heat. Pulled the motor and bench tested and it's fine (I love you Chevy for making that SO easy to do hehe). Checked power and thin orange goes hot in position 5 so it seems to be getting power. So I went to the junkyard and grabbed a new blower resistor and voila, heat is back.

However... a few hours ago I was driving and hit a hard bump. I heard a weird loud noise like when you run your fingernail over a comb then quiet and the heat stopped. When I got to the store, I checked and the tab that holds the blower motor into its housing snapped off.

!@##$^%(*!&@^& can't freaking win

I tried searching for articles on how to replace the blower motor housing but all I find are things on replacing the blower motor itself.

Does anyone know how involved it is?
