Default 07 Suburban stabilitrak & Service Control Issues

We tried a new harness, still nothing. Finally, the engineer told the dealer to remove my on star computer and jumper the system to see if the problem continued. After 2 weeks of driving with no issues I had the dealer install a new computer. That was in August of 2013, and I haven't a single issue since. I highly recommend looking into this. It will save you money in the long run by not changing throttle bodies every couple months
I just bought this truck 2 weeks ago. .I'm having the exact same issue. I have over 100k miles on the vehicle, I'm wondering how much did the new computer cost ? Did you purchase a computer module for the truck or a new On star unit? My Onstar is not currently turned on or does that matter? I read so many post about the same issue. Has there been a recall, this is a dangerous issue that Chevy has not addressed properly it seems

Default Service traction control Engine power reduced

I have had this same problem happen in the last three days on my 2011 Chevy Silverado. I had it happen one time last winter in these same conditions. I live in Wisconsin and it has been struggling to get above 0 all week. That was the same thing that happened last year, but after that one time never happened again until this week. Looking at taking it in this morning. Is this going to cost me an arm and a leg?

If it's the throttle body maintenance everyone else mentioned in this thread, that's covered up to 120K miles and until 2020 or something like that as a special coverage issue. This happened to me mid December while I was pulling out of my driveway. I immediately parked the car, contacted on-star and had the truck towed to the dealership. While the engine would run, I wasn't comfortable with how it would run. If you have On-Star I would do this rather than limping into the dealership. I don't know what kind of damage this could do to the engine, but it can't be good for it to run like that.

We'll gladly look into any recalls specific to your vehicle, mrblount. Feel free to also check recalls.gm.com. Send us your VIN if there's anything you'd like for us to check on our end.

Default Bad days

On multiple occasions in my 07 Avalanche now i have received these same three messages: service traction control, service stabilitrac and engine power reduced. First time i took it to the dear via tow truck and they said i needed new spark plugs. Spark plugs, really? So ok truck drove fine until i got home the same day i got it back from the dealer and same thing happens again. So another 50 mile tow back to the dealer for them to keep my truck for 2 weeks and say we cant get it to do it again so we dont what to fix. So i got my truck back from them and drove it this time it got me through about a week and here it goes again. I no longer have trust in the dealer as to fixing my truck. What should i do? Come on chevy i need a little security

07avryder Welcome, you may want to look at cleaning the throttle body and checking the wire harness to the throttle body as those a possible issues...
The battery cables should also be checked, particularly the ground cable and the strap to the engine/body

Supposedly all of that was taken care of with the 90000 mile service with the spark plug change... $900 later.

My Burb is a 2010 and it is under 100k miles. I will not pay for a darn thing. Why won't chevy pay for this known issue? I see it on several models and different years.

Default 07 Tahoe LTZ

This morning at 6 degrees had to rescue my wife. Car was limping "Engine power reduced, Stabilitrack off, and Traction control off" This is just the latest in a long line of repairs to this car. I have been loyal to chevy & GM for 40yrs but this is getting ridiculous. I have replaced the whole front end of the car (upper, lower, struts and bearings), rims rotting off, gas tank top (rusted thru), new sensors, striped engine to change lifters (variable displacement) that collapsed, new plugs wires and chased a bad coil for weeks, new starter......etc and now this. After reading all the complaints and fixes, I called dealer for any bulletins for a warranty fix and they said it was too old, but bring it down. I think not! I unplugged the Throttle body and will lube with dielectric grease. Car started and no codes but engine light on. I was told to clean but????? If my wife isn't happy, nobody is happy here.

This is not my fathers Chevrolet anymore.

Left feeling let down,

Thank you so much, I resolved the problem by replacing the throttle position sensor. .
