My truck idles at a low 300-400 RPMS and when i turn and my power steering really has to start working my truck dies. also sometimes it will just die at an idle i have checked my fuel pressure and im getting 56 psi so i know its not my fuel pump. i have tried to hook it up to an OBD2 code reader and it will not read i was told that my ecm fuse may be blown since the code reader will not connect to my ECM however i have no blown fuses. i also changed my fuel pressure regulator and this didnt fix anything. There is a vacuum line from the manifold to the fuel pressure regulator and it runs just fine when i disconnect it. and if i cover the vacuum on the manifold with my finger it dies and i was told this shouldnt happen so if anyone has any advice pls help.

 

You need to figure out why it won't scan. Does your lighter work? The power to the ECU and the power for the scanner comes from your lighter circiut. That problem has to be taken care of first. It might be a bad wire or wiring problem in the FPR circuit. Once you get the scanner to work see what codes come up. Hope this helps! Indyrob

 

you might need a new fuel pressure regulator. also, clean the idle air control valve and the egr. most of the time just cleaning one or both of these takes care of problem. agreed tho, you need to figure out the scanner issue too.
