Default Steering wheel off center.

Hi All, again.
I installed a leveling kit in my 2008 Avalanche and now my steering wheel is off by about 5-7 degrees to the right. Has anyone adjusted the tie rods and if so do the boot have to be loosened or what, I haven't done a lot of steering work on a GMT 900, but lots on the older 400.

the clamps only need to be loosened if the boot is turning with the tie rod. Usually, they spin freely.
if the toe setting was correct at the start...all you need to do is turn both tie rods equal amounts to center the steering.
with the vehicle sitting on the ground at normal ride height...measure from a fixed point on the tire, same height off the grd front and back. it should read about 1/16" toe in. if this number is correct...move to the next step
if the steering is right off-center...you need to move both wheels to the right. mark both inner tie rods with at a fixed point so you can make sure each is turned the same amount. try 1/2 turn in on one side and 1/2 out on the other. tighten it up and go for a drive. fine tune from there.
