1996 Beretta a/c system
My 1996 Beretta is having an a/c problem. I turn the switch in the dash on, and the compressor clutch does not engage. Now, if I bypass the relay the clutch will come on. I swapped out relays with a known good one, and it still did not work. Will loss of freon cause this to happen? If so, and I fill it up and the problwm persists what should I do next?
If there isn't any refrigerant or an insufficient amount, the compressor will not engage when the A/C is turned to the 'on' position. My system has a giant leak somewhere, and anytime right after a fill it will kick on properly, but when the system pressure gets low/empty about a week later, the compressor will no longer engage.
