Default 99 Camaro problems

I have a 99 camaro, 3800 V6. The serice engine soon light came on and began flashingthis morning, indicating a misfire. The problem was solved- a loose wire- and yet the light remains on now steady. A new noise began, rattling. Any ideas what this may be caused from or any ideas how to retrieve the code w/o taking it in? thanks

Take it to a parts store they should be able to check it for you. They probably won't reset it, but they will check it.

I had the same problem with my 97 Chevy Camaro a few years ago and I looked up some info on Chevy Camaro TV and LS1tech forums. Turned out I had a blown gasket and had to pay about $150 to get it fixed. I had to perform a coolant system pressure test to figure it out though.
