Default Backingplate or ankerplate for rear Brake

Hello,

i´m a guy from germany and my wife drives a 1993 Caprice Classic Station with 350cui engine and 11" drum brakes as daily driver.
Now is the rear backingplat rust away and i need a new one. But GM has no one, this peace isn´t listed as OEM Part.
Please can you help me to find a new one or a occasion in good condition? Or is another plate matching?

Thanks for your help and greetings from germany

Carsten

Wow, that stinks. Looks like it fits 91-96 station wagon only. Maybe doing a search of salvage yards here in the states might show something. There are two other part numbers listed, (both for non-sation wagon)(both no longer available) that are listed as light-duty and heavy-duty. Maybe a conversion to sedan brakes might be an option? Either way, it's gonna be salvage yard time I think.

Thank´s phazer,
i think you´re right. Parts for the sedan is even dificult to get here in germany.
I think i try to buy a second one for changing parts, in germany we say "Schlachtauto" - translatet "butchercar"
Thank´s for your message.

Biker, I have been in similar circumstances. Try this. Get on e-bay and go to one of the auto recyclers (we formerly called 'em "junk yards" but that's not politically correct anymore) that sell on that venue. I'll bet that one has an old caprice in the "back 40" that has your part. Get some pics and ask. Good luck.
