i have the 1996 caprice and i am trying to buy one of those nice custom coolant surge tanks but do not know which one to get as to i dont know what the top hose of the original coolant surge tank is..? i was looking at one of those weapon r universal tanks but i was told the top hose on the one i was looking at connects to nothing. so can some one please let me know which surge tank i can fit in my caprice. and looks nice!! thanks in advance

 

That tank on your '96 Caprice isn't just a surge tank, and can't be replaced with anything from the after market that I've seen. The hose on the top of the tank connects to your throttle body coolant port, which connects to the coolant line that moves coolant from the rear of the cylinder heads. The only way to improve the looks of that tank is paint.
