Default passenger key fault.

when i went to start my 94 caprice the lite passenger key fault came on and it would not start. after a few attempts it came to life and has been ok. my one mechanic says change the key switch for 230 bucks the other mechanic says change the module. the third guy said the car was having a bad day forget it.
