Default Captiva milage should be better.

Hello all first time here. About 6 months ago bought used 2013 Captiva LTZ with 15,ooo miles on it clean like new all the bells and whistles four cylinder auto tranny. Engine runs slick as a whistle auto tranny is real nice and smooth. Other day car in garage I noticed black around the exhaust pipe I mean like REAL black like soot. Took napkin stuck in exhaust wiped it and it is black like coal dust or soot. I am aware that is indicative of to rich fuel burning leaving the black residue. I asked the wife how much mileage she gets think she said around 25 which is not par for a four cylinder she drives like an old lady. We had a 2012 Toyota Camry auto tranny she drives back & fourth to work every day 26 miles one way only four stop lights traffic not heavy it got 32 MPG. I rarely drive it I have a muscle car dual exhausts I wiped both exhausts and could not find a trace of soot or residue and it has like 300 HP engine auto tranny and it gets 18 MPG most around town driving.

I called the Chevy place spoke with service manager he said best thing to do is bring it in let them put the computer on it check the intake & exhaust system see what's going on maybe the throttle body needs cleaning. Has 25,ooo miles on it now she drives back & forth to work 55-60 mph so should be no carbon build up like that.

I take it in tomorrow so will return and let you all know whaaas up with the black exhaust. Other than that it has given a stellar performance she really enjoys it because it sits up high good road car as well as town car SUV. Ya'll have a nice week end and drive safe.
