Default '02 Won't Start!

I have a 2002 Chev Cavalier, 4dr Sdn, 2.2 and it won't start. The other day, I parked it after it was running fine. 14 hrs later, it wouldn't start, although the battery was fine. No clicking noise, etc, but all lights, dash lights, etc., worked. Played with the shifter, tried to start in P and N to no avail. Played with shifter some more and it started in P. Yesterday, drove about 65 miles. Parked. 10 hrs later...wouldn't start. Played with the shifter again...no start. Called AAA. Battery was fine. AAA Rep tapped on starter while I tried to start. Nothing. Had dash lights, headlights, etc. Could this be a problem with the "neutral safety switch", solenoid, ignition module, or what? After a 67 mile tow back home, still no start. BTW...drove through a hard rain for about 15 minutes on the 67 mile trip. I don't think it was the starter because it started the other night after playing with the shifter. Anyone have any ideas in addition to the neutral safety switch?

Also, if it is the neutral safety switch, can it be adjusted or does it have to be replaced altogether? How easy is it to get to. It's my understanding it is under the hood on top of the transmission at the linkage. Any help woul;d be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

Having the same problem with my girlfriends 04 Grand am. Im thinking hers is the starter though. I will let you know this weekend I am going to try the starter. If you Bring your starter into Autozone they can tell you if it is bad.

Default Update

Well, I was pretty well convinced that my problem was my neutral safety switch. I thought, just to rule it out, that I would check the starter before I bought a new switch. Tried "crossing over" the starter and NOTHING! Took off the starter, had it checked, and low and behold, it was shot! Put on a new starter and it fired right up! Problem solved! What was unusual was that I did get it to start before, after playing with the gear shift lever. Just a fluke, I guess. Suzuki-guy...how did the Grand-Am turn out? Same problem?
