1997 black box ??

1997 black box ??
I just bought a 1997 cav and been working on it and found a black box under the right side dashbord not sure what it is but its not hockedup i tryed to pluging it in and now the radio will not shutoff. I need to replace this box but i have no idea what it is. The only thing i can see on the box reads " C F C Free " i know it works the inside lights . Im not a chevy man so i have no clue on how to fix this thing the car has 85000 miles on it and a 2.2 in it
