Default 2007 VSS Wire Location Picture inside the black box

Can someone share pictures of VSS wire connection inside the black box? Is there more then one Green/White wire in side the black box above the parking brake? My rear mirror temperature off 25 degree or more and the Nav map is moving upside down.

The VSS wire is a small green wire with a white stripe. It's not in the connector bundle above the parking brake release, it's under the black box on the floor to the left of the brake. You have to take the cover off, gently lift the panel off and twist it. The wire you need is on the BACK. There are two two sets of wires taped together. You need to gently clip the zip tie and/or electrical tape holding the wires together. There should only be one small green wire with a white stripe. I just had to have mine redone. We tapped into a green wire in the brown connector above the parking brake release and I had no navigation functionality at all, it would only state that it started navigation guidance and then it would say guidance completed when you reached your destination. It wouldn't give any guidance prompts at all. If this is happening with your nav system, either you don't have the VSS wire or you've tapped it into the wrong place.

Did you get this sorted out? I have same issue. I found the wire but I don't think my vampire tap has a good enough connection. The triangle in the navigation is moving backwards and the voice prompts only tell me when I reach my destination.

ray ray,
keep me posted on your situation and i'll do the same. my radio and nav were both working fine with voice prompts and everything. Last weekend I added a rear view camera and now my voice prompts are no longer working and like you, my triangle (truck icon) points up, but seems to be moving sideways on the screen and my north pointer points south and west a lot, not all the time, just most of the time. I figured I pulled the vss wire tap apart during the camera install so I checked it and sure enough the vss wire had been cut through and my tap was just kinda wrapped around and barely holding it together. I took it to a shop and they soldered the whole thing together for me, but my voice prompts still don't work and my truck icon still seems to be moving sideways mostly. I'm going to pull my stereo out and see if the green wire from the brown connector behind the unit got pinched or pulled loose. I can't really think of anything else, even as far fetched as it is to believe that the wire was pulled out from behind the radio AND the tap into the vss all came apart. I'm really hoping that's the problem. If you get yours figured out let me know and also let me know what you've tried.
