Default 1997 cavalier theft system

Im sorry if this has been asked a lot but my phone won't let me navigate through the site properly at the moment. Im sure most of you have heard of the anti-theft light staying solid and the car refusing to start. But I read hours of "tricks" and what has worked for some, unfortunately has not for me. I tried the 10 minute trick with no luck. Also replaced the battery but nothing. The car is the base model 5 speed and was running like a dream that has 190xxx on it. Had no problems until I let a friend drive it to work and received a call saying the car wouldn't start and the anti theft light was solid.
So they tried cleaning the terminals and stare at it for awhile and gave up and tried to bump start it. Well it started and they drove it back but it was doing the same for me when I hopped in. The other day I got in and started it just fine and let it warm up and drove it back and it has sat since then. I really want to get it back on the.road but I dont.have much money to throw at it right now. Thanks in advance guys. Let me know what you think.

Yeah I actually fixed it with a screw driver. I got fed up and had a friend sit in the car while I jumped the solenoid and bam, started up and actually stopped giving me problems. I think it only did it once after that, but I did the same thing and it never happened again.
I never heard of anyone doing this but it definitely worked for me, not too sure if it will for anyone else. But it definitely beat throwing parts and money at it.
Let me know if anyone else has luck with this method.
Good luck
