1998 chevy cavalier Z24 theft system
I have a 1998 chevy cavalier Z24. I had taken it out of state. I had stopped at a gas station. I left my car door open and unlocked. I am guessing someone in the area had a beeper key that also worked on my car. when I got back in my car the theft system light was on, it was not blinking and wont let the car start. it is a passkey1 system. I have tried disconnecting the battery, leaving the car on for 20 min. leaving it in nuetral and try starting it. I tried hitting the starter. nothing seems to work. I do not have the oringinal beeper key. if I got a new one would that fix the problem? please help. thanks

Fix for ya
Get inside the car. Roll your driver side window down. attempt to start the car. it should turn over and try to run then die. LEAVE THE KEY ALONE IN THE ON POSITION. Climb out of your window. go chill for 15 mintues then come back and start your vehicle. That should fix it for you IF ITS THE PASSLOCK PROBLEM
