I have a 2000 Cavaliar with almost 170,000 miles and have just now had the car break down. I was driving when the car began to make a slight grinding sound of the passenger side of the engine. There was no fluid on the ground, or anything different except for this sound, even the temp guage was normal. I drove another 35 miles before the sound became louder and the car began to lose power. I had the car towed home the last 40 miles. My husband has ruled out the waterpump. Could it be the crank shaft, or a rod? Help
