hi all, my name is mary and im new to the forum. im here because im tired of paying for, but getting no results from the garage.

so, once and awhile my car will just not start. all electrical components will fire up, but there is no start, no click, no nothing. i can always tell when its coming because for a day or two before this happens theres always a weird grinding noise before the car starts.

so the first time this happened, i took it to my local garage (theyve always done good work at a reasonable rate) they replaced the starter resistor and neutral saftey switch. this did the trick for about a week but again the grinding started and eventually my car wouldnt start at all.

so again, back to the garage. this time they replaced the starter. that worked for less than a week. and here i am again.

the other night it wouldnt start, my friend recommended i put the car in neutral and then tried to start. the car made an awful grind (the worst yet) but it did start.

any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.

I know this may sound dumb, but is there enough oil in the car? It sounds like your engine is seizing at some points until you get it going again.

any update on this? i'm having the same issue at present.
