I just purchased a 2002 Cavalier with the 2.2L non ecotec with 165k miles on it that will not start i have diagnosed that i believe the timing chain skipped. I have started to tare into it as we speak i am just kinda to the point of i dont know how i want to approach anything anymore. What would be the easiest way that you guys would suggest of approaching this? The engine is still in the car I can pull it out but dont really want to if wanted i can post a video of what it does when i try to start it? It turns over but backfires and the rpm's do go up to around 250rpm. I was told that it did stop running when it was going down the freeway.
