Default bushing for shift linkage

Is there something I can make or buy to replace the bushing at the transmission link cable (2003 manual 5 speed cavalier)

Think I have the same problem. Will not shift into first gear without hitting shift lever very hard to left and up.
Looks like bushing on left side of shift lever is worn which prevents the shift cable to move sufficiently to engage first gear. All the motion is lost in the sloppy bushing.

Or could it be the shift cable stickiing as the Chey dealer parts man suggested?
